This video is quite a story, it was two year process. F.Shaw got hold of me about the time Naeto C's video was blowing up all over Africa in 2008. I submitted a treatment and a budget and F.Shaw was blown away with my ideas. A few things happened that prevented us shooting the video, F.Shaw was violently attacked and needed some time to recover. Besides that he had to go study in the UK, but F.Shaw kept in contact and promised me we'd do the video. World Cup 2010 come around and F.Shaw wants to come to South Africa in July, F.Shaw contacts me and 3 months later he's in SA shooting the vid with me.

The video was shot entirely in studio against a choma key (green) background. This requires a full storyboard and careful planning. The production team was small and we worked well into the night to make all the scenes on the storyboards happen. Special thanks to Melissa Maxted for an amazing job styling the video on such short notice. As usual Gail did an amazing job securing everything from the cast and crew to all the logistics. A few long weeks in post production lay ahead after this.

Post production on this was a beast, it was a long process sourcing the correct backgrounds and creating the right VFX. The hardest and longest part was rotoscoping all the brass instrument shots, all the reflections on the brass picked up the full chroma key studio. Another tricky one was animating the car that was originally static. The treatment was for a classic period piece so it was all about the stylized look of the backgrounds. I love this video and madly proud of it!
